Race for the Cure

Deeds's picture

Happened last Sunday. I've never seen anything like it. There were over 45,000 people there! There were 5 different catagories of runners(which I wasn't aware of) the first to lead the race were people in wheelchairs (I didn't know that either). I met some really awesome people. This one women I met has two young daughters, which were with her, they were wearing pink angel wings made from feathers. The women told me that her mom and sister died from cancer so she was making it her goal to raise as much money as she could so if her girls get it there might be a cure. She said she just came from Chicogo where she did a 60 mile walk. Not only did all the people congrigate for the cause they took it up a notch and ran for it too! I was amazed.

Get some rest Deeds

I bet you are tired. It takes a lot of energy and strength to run like you do. I remember my niece was up early every Sat. morning running. Her parents pushed her and now she is very resentful towards them. She has tons of trophies too. Wow, there were a lot of people there, glad it all turned out so good. Hope all is well!

Congrats

Congratulations! What an accomplishment!!!
When I was about twenty I ran the Bellin Run in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I doubt I will ever run something that large again.

Now the gym shoe picture you use to have makes sense. Didn't know you were a runner. Congratulations on your accomplishments and doing these runs for great causes!
